Hi,

My idea is to have global variations for the Preachers and Sermons.
Several churches use different names for Sermons, like: Preaches, Studies, even Lectures
Another variation is to Preaches, that can be: Pastors, Teachers, etc.

So this could be set the Plugin options, to customize this name, with singular and plural options

Word for Sermon:
- Singular:
- Plural:
Word for Preacher:
- Singular:
- Plural:

This will also help in the Localization/Translation process. Wink

One other thing is to use automatic Capitalization of these words.
That being, words are saved lowercase and then capitalized as needed.
Ex:
sermon -> Sermon
sermão -> Sermão (in pt_BR)

This suggestion has been posted previously in the Google Group but I intent to get some help from Forum Members also.

Thanks DJIO,
I think this feature would be helpful for others also, so I will add it to my list of good ideas. That's quite a long list at the moment, so I don't know how long it will take me to get to it, but I will try and do it.

Is there a way at present to change "Preacher" to something else, e.g., "Teacher"? (Especially on the top where it lists "Preacher," "Book," "Series," "Service," "Date" . . . much thanks, Jerry

TheRev - we changed ours to "Speaker" by editing, I believe, frontend.php.

You can also do it by adding an English 'translation' file that just contains the changes you want. This post helps explain how: http://www.lost-in-code.com/pl.....-a-plugin/

Thanks for the ideas, I may still be a little lost in this and have to wait for the PhD (push here dummie!) level of adjustment! I'll look forward to some new "options" . . . Thanks again . . .

Hi,

Was this ever done?

I have a friend who has a radio show and we want to use sermon browser in a WP site to allow visitors to search and play his shows.

We need to change 'preacher' to 'host', 'service' to 'show,' etc.

We are hesitant to try to dig into the code because we are afraid when the program is updated, we will have to re-do it.  FYI, we are not programmers.  We are looking for some sort of global setting we can change and forget.

Thanks!

Bart
