Mark, I've read thru all the comments and haven't seen this before. I downloaded your current version yesterday and installed it to my WP blog. I had already installed PODPRESS before discovering Sermon Browser.
I can't get it to work.
I uploaded the sermon "Payday Someday" to the /wp-content/uploads/sermons directory but it wouldn't play. I was stuck in "BUFFERING" mode.
I noticed this in the "OPTIONS" section:
Warning: The maximum file size you send through the browser is only 8192k. Please change post_max_size to at least 15M in php.ini.
I don't understand this. Could this be a problem?
Then, I noticed that the "Payday Someday" sermon wasn't complete so I deleted it from the "sermons" folder. I also deleted it everywhere I could find a reference to it but it won't delete from the "UPLOADS" section. It is still there under ID#1.
Next, I uploaded a sermon called "The Voice of the Spirit" by A.W. Tozer. The sermon was listed there but the name beneath the player said "Payday Someday"! That was weird.
I deactivated "PODPRESS" and now I can't see the player at all.
Here's what I'm running:
WP 2.6
Sermon Browser 0.37.3
Audio Player (1Pixelout) 2.0 beta
Adobe Flash Player 10 (I believe that's it, it just updated)
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
@Tim: For what it's worth, I don't think you've got a conflict with podpress. We have podpress on our site and we don't appear to have any problem with it (though, we're not using them both on the same page). I would guess that your sermon is larger than the size allowed to upload and you end up with an incomplete file that's causing the initial trouble (I have no idea about the subsequent problems with the names and problems playing). If so, you'll have to change the post_max_size in your php.ini file. There's a link in the FAQ to instructions on editing the file. I'd be sure to make a backup of the file just in case.

@Tim and @Matthew:
I have had some trouble with getting "frozen" at the "buffering" stage as well. I've noticed that when a user is not signed on to wordpress, and is viewing the site, they cannot hear the audio. When they click on the search result for a particular sermon, instead of seeing that sermon's page, they just see the search page again. When I'm logged on, I don't have any of those problems. I've been looking through the code to find what might cause this -- but I'm not having any luck. FWIW, I don't have podpress installed either.
Anyone else seen this?
Thanks for the reply.
I've completely removed PodPress from my server.
I no longer have a player on my page.
I've read the FAQ about changing the php.ini but I haven't been able to find any help as to where the php.ini is located. I use WS-FTP to access my site and I've looked through every file on the site and there is no php.ini or .htaccess (which I read, somewhere, does the same thing as the php.ini).
Any help with this issue would be appreciated.

@Tim,
I just contributed a little bit of code that will automatically remove listings from the "Uploads" section that no longer exist in the directory. It worked for me -- but I sent it to Mark for further testing. Hopefully he'll be able to make sure I didn't break anything too important.
As for php.ini -- it should be in the root of your hosting account or in a \conf directory. It is the equivalent of a hidden/system file, so make sure that you're set to view everything.
On my hosting, I was running PHP5, so I actually had to create a new php5.ini file, fwiw.
Good luck!
Matthew
Matthew,
Thanks for all your help. I completely removed Sermon Browser from my Server. I then reinstalled it. When I activated the program I still had the two sermons that I had installed earlier. I even deleted these from the server so I don't know where the program is reading them from.
All the info about the two sermons I've uploaded shows up on my "Sermons" page but I don't have a player. Neither is there a link to the .mp3 file. Just the name of the sermon and the name of the speaker.
Both of the files that I've installed are below the limit that the warning gave me.
I manage five different websites and I've searched every folder on every site to find a php.ini file and there isn't one on any of them.
I'm also running PHP5 on the church site so I may have to make one myself although I have no idea where to start or what to put in it.
I would really like to use this plugin but I don't understand why it has to be so difficult when others seem to activate it with success.
Thanks for all your help. I'll try PODPRESS again until I find out more about this plugin.
I went to MySQL and deleted all the references that pointed to the sermons I previously uploaded. That took care of the deleted sermons still showing up under my "Sermons" tab.
I uploaded a small sermon file via FTP to the directory found under "Options" and "upload folder".
I edited the sermon.
I changed the template so that I now have the KJV instead of the ESV.
I still do not have a player showing up on my website. All the other information is there but no player. I have uploaded and activated the "Audio Player" from 1Pixel. I'm using the version 2 beta. I have updated to the latest version of Flash. I do NOT have any AD blockers installed in FireFox. I'm using FF3 but the player doesn't appear in Safari, Opera, Chrome, Flock or IE7
What do I do to get the player onto the page?
HERE is my website. Once there click on "Sermons"
I am nearly 52 years old and I think I'm losing it. The most obvious things pass me by. I'm ashamed to say that all I lacked doing was assigning the attachment to each sermon. Once you assign the attachment, the player is revealed.
There has to be a sermon illustration in there somewhere!
Thanks to everyone for your help.
Tim
