I've never had a problem linking to already-uploaded sermons before. This is my first time. I just upgraded to the new Sermon Browser, and I'm getting the error message, "Your host does not allow remote downloading of files," whenever I link to the sermon. Any ideas?

If your server doesn't allow remote downloading, then this message occurs if you import sermons from the Files page. But it won't occur if you just link to files from the Add Sermons page.

For some reason it thinks I'm trying to upload a file when I'm only linking to it. This is what I'm doing …

- Click on "Add Sermon"
- Set file url to "URL to Import" ("Link to Remote File" is selected)
- Click "Import"
- I get the error message

So I decided to try uploading to the Uploads > Sermons folder. When I selected the file and clicked "Select", I got the "You do not have sufficient permissions to access this page." All the folders are set to 777.

I got something to work. I went to "Files" and the file was there. So I clicked on "Create a Sermon", and it worked.

However, I assume that if this is a bug that is preventing me from simply linking to a URL, you will want to know about it.

Even though you're only linking to it, SermonBrowser starts to try and download the file to get the ID3 tags so it can prefill the form. I'll make the error message clearer in the next version. In your case it's because allow_url_fopen is not set to true in your php.ini (or in your host's 'master' php.ini configuration). If you just want to link to the URL without this attempt to download it, use the attachments section at the bottom of the 'add sermons' page.

So I decided to try uploading to the Uploads > Sermons folder. When I selected the file and clicked "Select", I got the "You do not have sufficient permissions to access this page." All the folders are set to 777.

I couldn't replicate this. Could you give me the exact place where it occurs? There are three places in SB where you can upload files.
