I just tried the URL feature and it is getting an error.
Note.. I have never used this feature before so it very well could be something I am doing wrong.
Can anyone verify their URL links are working in SB?
External link is valid so that's not it.
I think when it saves the URL is is corrupting it and also the path does not seem quite correct.
Seems to be treating it like an upload, but it is not in the upload folder (under wp_uploads/content).
So it is trying to use an invalid path. :)
Thanks for conformation.

OfflineI use the URL links to point to posts on our own site where the pastor enters his sermon text. Thus far, it's been working great for that purpose.

OfflineI use shortlinks generated from Jetpack and they have the http:// frontend and they work fine as well. I use them for Sermon Notes pages as suggested. I change the graphic from the generic globe to something that blends well. If you do things like that keep backups because an upgrade on the plugin will remove formatting and images when it's reinstalled.
Spoke to soon. I thought it was working since it was prompting me to download.
But without the http it thinks the file resides local on the host.
Here is exactly what I am doing.
We have a file on dropbox. http://dl.dropbox.com/u/263515…..5.8.11.pdf it is a bulletin.
1. edit the sermon click "Add attachment" so I get another field.
2. select enter a url from the drop down.
3. on the right side paste in the url to the drop box pdf.
4. then save.
If you look at http://www.sermonbrowser.com/d…..rmon_id=10 you'll see I've added the PDF to that sermon without any difficulty. Can you post a link to the sermon on your site with the invalid PDF?

I had the same problem and found this discussion tonight. I had given up but then, just as I had given up, I realised what I had done wrong… file needs to be in the Dropbox public folder itself, not a subfolder of public.
Hopefully you'd worked this out before now?!
