I have installed Sermon Browser and uploaded an mp3 of Sunday's message but when I go to the page that I put on, it indicates there is one sermon but there is no button to play it. I would appreciate any guidance.

earllavagnino,
I'd like you to check for attachments in the sermon. To do this, go into the WordPress control panel and click on Sermons. You'll see a list of sermons. (You only have one so far.) Under the Actions column, click on the Edit link for your "Come and See" sermon.

Look at the "Attachments" area on the Edit Sermon screen. Is there anything listed here? Please reply and type in whatever you see there, and I'll try to help you get it fixed.

Thank you Ben,
I followed your directions and there is nothing in the "attachments" area of the Edit Sermon screen. I have not seen many other posts with the problem I am having. I am thinking I did something wrong in the installation. Do you need more access to the site to review it? Be glad to send you a link through a more private process.
Have a great day,
Earl

Earl,
1. In the WordPress control panel, go to Sermons, Options and look at the "Upload folder" box. It should be this:
/wp-content/uploads/sermons/

(The slashes at the beginning and the end are important.)

2. Go to Sermons, Files. Do you see anything listed in the "Unlinked Files" area?

3. When you added your sermon, how did you upload the file? Did you use FTP, or did you use the "File to Upload" area at the top of the "Add sermon" screen?

Thank you Ben,
I did not have the first / in front of wp-content so I added that.
Yes I do see our sermon in the unlinked file area
I used the file to upload within Sermon Browser to upload the file.

Thanks, Earl.
Next, go back into the Edit Sermon screen. (Click Sermons, then click the Edit link for your sermon.)

In the Attachments area at the bottom, pick "Choose existing file:" for the first box. In the second box, do you see the filename of your sermon as a choice? If so, pick it and then click the Save button. If you don't see your filename, let me know.

What is the filename of your sermon audio?

Hi Ben and thank you again.
I was in error on my last post. I do not see our sermon in the unlinked files area. There is something in there but not the sermon. Under "ID" it says "12" under file name it says "sermon" and under type it says "php"

When I go to the Edit Sermon Screen and click on the Edit link, in the attachments area if I choose existing file, I see "sermon.php" but the actual name of our sermon is "Come and See" that is the title of the upload. The series is "Following Jesus"

I think I have gotten the settings and locations of the audio files messed up in my trying to make it work.
Hopefully you can get me going in the right direction. I will keep looking myself also.
Thank you so much for your time.
Earl

Hi Ben, I believe that mp3 issue is the problem. I uploaded a mp3 file I had here at the office and it played just fine. Let me go to the church office and figure out why a PHP file was uploaded before you spend anymore of your time. If it is supposed to be a php for some reason, please let me know.
Thank you and have a good evening. Sorry for our error,
Earl

Yes, it should definitely be an .mp3 file.

When you save your .mp3, I recommend that you only use letters, numbers, dashes (-) and underscores (_) in the filename. No spaces or any other symbols.

I'm sending you a private message with some more information.

It is working fine now Ben. After you asked me to give you the name of the file, I noticed it was a php??? who knows why but possibly I noticed when we went to upload, we chose the button that called for a linked file rather than the button that uploads the file to the server. Anyway now using the upload file to server button and it works really great. I really appreciate your help with this.
Have a very good rest of the week,
Earl Lavagnino
