OfflineThe Scoop:
Due to not being able to modify my php.ini file, I have been uploading my sermons via File Zilla directly to the uploads/sermons directory and have encountered an error in my unlinked files section of Sermon Browser Plugin.
The issue:
I had a audio file in my uploads/sermons that had a "Reverse Solidus" in the title. I could not delete or rename it in the unlinked files section of my SB Plugin. I also could not delete or rename it from File Zilla. I finally log into my cPanel and was able to delete it there. However, before I was able to delete this file, every time I went on the unlinked files section of my SB Plugin, it created a copy of the same file, which can not be deleted or renamed. I currently have around 60 of the same sermon titles in the unlinked files section. The file is no longer on my server, but is still displayed in my unlinked section of my SB Plugin.
The solution:
I'm not sure what would cause this to happen, but would appreciate any input.

OfflineI just replied to another person with the same problem as you:
http://www.4-14.org.uk/forum/s…..x-and-mp3s
I think, as you probably figured out, the cause was the special character in the filename.
If the file is gone from the server but is still causing problems in the Unlinked Files screen, then I'm guessing that some database editing will be required to remove the entry for that bad file.
Reply and let me know if you think my analysis is correct, and that you still need help, and I'll see if I can help you with the fix.

OfflineI'm trying to reproduce the problem on a test server, but I can't. Would you please give me the exact filename of the file that is giving you trouble?

OfflineHere is the audio file name.
" Bible-Church-Pulpit-Echoes-12082010-Bob-Bryce-Its-All-About-Him.mp3 "
The backslash is not showing up after I post it, but I had a backslash between "It" and "s".
I have also been putting the "-" between all spaces for the actual mp3 file names so it will link properly to my podcast.

OfflineWhat operating system are you using that let you put a backslash in a filename?

OfflineThe backslash was not there originally when I uploaded the file. It was an "apostrophe" between It's. I did not start having issues until I clicked on create a sermon button in the unlinked files section of the plug-in. Once I had clicked on the create sermon button, I could not delete, rename or do anything to the file within the plug-in or File Zilla. Finally, when I viewed the file in my cPanel it had a backslash instead of an apostrophe. Any ideas what may have cause this?

OfflineI'm sure the cause is some buggy code in Sermon Browser that doesn't like the apostrophe in the filename.
I'll try to replicate the problem on my test site, then see if I can give you a procedure to fix it.

Offlineematchi,
I've replicated and fixed the problem on my test site.
If you are familiar with phpMyAdmin for editing your database, it is very easy to remove these bad file entries. Have you used phpMyAdmin before? Typically, you access your database with phpMyAdmin through your webhost's control panel. If you don't know how to do this, you might want to ask your webhosting provider.
Before you begin, here is the WARNING: It is very easy to seriously mess up your entire website with phpMyAdmin. One false move, and your website is down. So it is critical that you backup your database before you begin.
After you know that you have your database backed up and can restore it if need be, go into phpMyAdmin. The name of the table you want will end in "_sb_stuff". Often it is named "wp_sb_stuff", but the beginning of the name can vary on different installations. Click on the table name in the column on the left, then click the Browse tab.
You'll see a list of all your files. All the linked files, unlinked files, and the bogus entries we want to get rid of are all here. You want to delete only the bogus entries. Do not delete any entry for a file that is still on your server. You also might see entries on this list that are for things other than files; leave those alone, too. To delete an entry, just click the big red X next to that entry. Since you have a bunch to delete, you can click the checkbox for each one you want to delete, then click the red X at the bottom of the list.
Good luck. If you have any more questions, just ask. If you need more specific help on phpMyAdmin, you can probably find tutorials on phpMyAdmin on Google, or ask your webhost.
