Support for multiple sermon folders?

Hi,

I'm experimenting with Sermon Browser. So far, everything seems great, and I think that I will make it my main system for housing sermons. But I have one question… I'd like to be able to organize my sermons in sub-folders (one for each series). Is that possible? Currently, if I upload to anything but the root "sermons" folder, then the frontend admin app doesn't detect it.

Has anyone developed a workaround for this? Or have I missed something that should be obvious?

Thanks in advance,
Perry

This isn't currently available. It should be possible to add, but I have a number of other feature requests in the queue, I'm afraid. I'll add it to my requests list, but I can't promise anything.

Hi Perry,

Just spotted this old question, and I might have a workaround for you, albeit not a very nice one. On the "Edit Sermon" page, under "Attachments", we don't use the "Upload a new one" option, and our sermons are not stored in the "sermons" folder. Our reason for this is, our sermons are stored at a remote webhost, so we have to upload them to that remote webhost via FTP, and then use the "Enter a URL" option (under "Attachments") to specify the web address of that sermon (i.e. the complete URL to the mp3 file, not just to the folder).

However, I assume you could use this same method to point to sermons stored on your local webhost, and you could group sermons into any folders you like, because the folder name would be part of the URL you specify. For example, you could reference 3 sermons (2 on Grace and 1 on Judgement) like this:

http://yourchurch.org/wp-conte…..-10-10.mp3
http://yourchurch.org/wp-conte…..-10-17.mp3
http://yourchurch.org/wp-conte…..-10-24.mp3

Or you could put the sermons at a higher level (outside of the WP file structure), like:
http://yourchurch.org/sermons/…..-10-10.mp3

Either way, you would have to create the appropriate folders first, and I guess you couldn't do that via WordPress or SermonBrowser, so just use your webhost's file manager in their control panel, or do it via your FTP client.

Any questions?
