I hope someone would be able to help me with this issue. I have been told that users on my site ntccpasadenatx.org/blogs2 are having a hard time downloading the mp3 files. They will stream fine, but when they download the files they only download the name of the file without any date so the files will not play on a remote location. Does anyone know why? I do require a registration before a person can download is this the reason why? I apprecaite any help you might be able to give.

Thanks

It seems this week there are a lot of people posting with issues that I have had! See this thread.
I had placed a line in my .htaccess to block blank user agents (bots) and it blocked people from downloading my mp3s! Have you done something similar lately?

Hi, thanks. I checked my .htaccess file but there was nothing there but one line blocking a specific user. I tried deleting that line but still had the same problem. Any other suggestions? Could it be the size of the files?

I also had a duplicate .htaccess file in one of those directories. Since it's hidden, I didn't see it. Check your sermons folder and make sure there's not an errant copy in there and delete it if there is.

Well, no secondary .htaccess file but I did find that some of the files would download and others do not. The first files I loaded are fine, but the latest files are not… I really am stumped

Robert – I sent you an email. Just a question – are all the sermons in the same directory or are they in separate directories?

Hey Rich I did not get the email – try robbrigg2@aol.com

Yes, all the sermons are in the same directory.

Praise God, and Thank you Rich!

My problem is solved. It turned out to be a conflict with a plugin I had called "W3 Total Cache". At Rich's suggestion I deactivated all the plugins accept Sermon Browser and the Audio Player and confirmed then that the downloads worked. Then, one by one, I went down the line activating a plugin and then testing the download. I did this for each plugin until I found the culprit. Thanks a bunch Rich!laugh

You welcome, Robert. Cache plugins do not seem to play well with Sermon Browser.
