Mark:
I know this has been talked about for almost a year now, and I did read your post about work schedule.

I was just curious how the development of sb using post_types is coming along.

Currently there are a few plugins that give wp 2.9 the same functionality as 3.0 will have, (admin UI for post_types with taxonomies, and of course category templates plugin to create meta areas)

I have spent the last few weeks playing with both 2.9 with plugins and 3.0 alpha, and have made some headway with sb using post_types.

alpha: [url="http://jerrygaffney.net/sermons/2010/"]

I am writing because I have managed to get the basic framework in place for sb with post_type sermons, but have hit my wall code ability wise.

So far I have multiple taxonomies applied to the sermon post type that are searchable.

I have the admin panels built for adding sermons, locations, preachers.

Where I am stuck:
1. preachers, locations, and tags are all taxonomies, but I have yet to figure out how to relate an image and profile bio to a taxonomy. (preachers taxonomy links to preacher image, description)
2. Integration of your scripture api, is way beyond my ability.
3. templating system has not even been started. Personally I had no need for this aspect because I simply build custom templates for each client, but I know that most users will need this.

anyhow, even though I am only in alpha, I am posting here because I am hoping to get any type of input from you as to what the future plans are for sb. I would love to help with development, but when we get zero answers to anything, it's impossible to know what to help with, which leaves me on my own, basically forking sb.

–I can say that the portion I have done so far is the easy part. You could replicate it on your own in a matter of hours, so there is nothing new or fancy with my setup at all.

well I hope all is well with you and your ministry and I look forward to any news on sb and what we can help with.
