we are developing our WP site in Firefox, but recently looked at it on IE.
We noticed when we played a sermon it sounded like the chipmunks…any idea as to how we can solve this problem?

Sounds like the very common issue with the audioplayer.
You may want to check out the FAQ:

Ensure Flash is up-to-date on both IE and Firefox (a different download for each). Ensure bitrate is one of the acceptable Flash ones. (if not you may need to re-encode at a different bit-rate).
