Hello,

We love this plugin. It is very well done!

We would like to install this on local Christian Radio stations website that we are building, however we need to replace some of the main words like Sermon & Preacher.

We've tried to look into the code, but without diving too deep, I thought I might connect and see if you could point me a location to quickly make some of those changes.

Please advise.
Brian

It's in frontend.php. Search for:

<?php _e('Preacher', $sermon_domain) ?>

…and replace it with:

<?php _e('Speaker', $sermon_domain) ?>

(or whatever you call people who are sharing God's word)

Also, in templates under the "Search results" section, you can change "Preached by" to something else.

Thing is, every time you upgrade Sermon Browser the changes are reversed. Mark says somewhere in here that there's a better (and presumably more permanent) way to do it but I could not get his way to work.

Hello, I am working with Brian on this project. I was able to make the change in the frontend.php code. I wasn't able to find the "Search Results" in the templates section. Is this still in the editor under "Plugins", or in the editor under "Appearance"? Thanks for your help!

If you look in templates, under "Search results page" you should see the following:

<td class="preacher">Preached by [preacher_link] on [date] ([service_link]). [editlink]</td>

Changed "Preached" to whatever you want it to say.

Also in templates, under "Sermon page", look for:

Part of the [series_link] series, preached at a [service_link] service<br />

and then change "preached" to whatever you want.

Ztuck, were you able to find the sections I referenced above under templates?

Yes, I was.

What we are wanting to do is use this plugin for a Christian radio station. They have a segment with local artists and they record the performances. We want to use this for the performances, rather than sermons. So we will have to do quite a bit of customization.

The customizations are lost upon each release of SB, so keep track of your changes. Also, when it's done, can I see it?

We are looking to implement this plug in on our podcast as well. We are very much looking to work with you. I will be emailing you on any updates as to how we could lay out the plan. We have done initially our test broadcast though ustream and had a good result so we are wishing to expand.

Though we are still on logistics and how to handle schedules among others.

Rich,

Where can I customize things in the admin area (i.e. what I see in the Wordpress admin/dashboard area)? I want to change all instances of "sermons" to "performances", "preacher" to "artist", etc… Thanks!

You stumped me on that one: I have no clue how to change it there.

Got a question for you guys. It's not letting me delete a Series or a Service time. There are no "sermons" connected to the series or time I want to delete. Any ideas?
