Hey guys,

We run a multisite install of WordPress 3.3.1 and our server keeps getting hammered with attacks lately. We have been trying to track down the issue, so we were looking through our server logs and found that the Sermon Browser plugin is throwing an error/warning every 60s (sometimes more). Here is the error:

[Thu Feb 16 01:17:02 2012] [error] [client 180.76.5.160] PHP Warning: array_change_key_case() expects parameter 1 to be array, boolean given in /var/www/nccumc.net/wp-content/plugins/sermon-browser/sb-includes/podcast.php on line 14

We have also noticed that most of the hits on the plugin come from 180.76.5.x. I don't know if this is related to our server attacks, but is there something I can update to stop throwing this error? We have a few sites using the plugin and it seems to work great otherwise.

If there isn't anything I can update, can someone point us in the right direction? Thanks for the help!

dcleek;

I am not the brightest bulb on the 'net, but are you sure it is an attack. How heavy is your error logging in your php.ini file. I know if you have logging on too heavy you can get just about any php file of any decent size to throw errors. What verison of PHP. Is your site(s) self hosted or on a provider. If a provider, have you spoken to them about it yet? Just some of the basics so we can get a little more info to maybe help you get this solved.

Blessings…

Shawn

Hey Shawn,

Thanks for the response. Yeah, we are very sure there was an attack on our site because we kept having to restart our servers after Apache would basically freeze up. I don't know about the logging in the php.ini file, but this is the only plugin throwing errors in our logs. We are running PHP 5.2.4 I believe on a self-hosted server.

We were able to block the IP range, and so far so good, but we would still like to resolve this issue.

Thanks for the help!
