I am working on a brand new website started with Wordpress 3.0 and have since upgraded to 3.0.1. When a user clicks on a sermon title the link shows "No Sermons Found".

Is there any word on future development of this plugin and compatibility with wordpress 3.0?

I think the problem is that your sermons do not have a series defined. Sermon Browser works best when there is a series defined for each sermon. For sermons that are not a part of a series, create a series called "Miscellaneous" (or something more creative) and make the sermons a part of that.

If your church never does a sermon series, you might want to remove the series link from the Sermon Browser Search page and Sermon page templates.

Please add the sermons to a series and let us know whether or not that fixes your problem.

As far as your question goes about plugin development, Sermon Browser seems to be working with WordPress 3.0 pretty well as is. The last time the plugin author commented on the future of the plugin was this post in February.
