OfflineI have successfully installed the most recent version of sermon browser, but when I try to listen to the sermon, download a link, or anything else nothing works. What am I doing wrong?
Currently I have one sermon uploaded and will add more once I get it all figured out.
Here's the page: http://christthekingcincinnati…../podcasts/
Here's my audio file, which isn't working currently.
http://www.christthekingcincin…..hecity.mp3
I have tried everything I can think of. Please help!
The reason the links aren't working is that a "#" character is being inserted in the link. For example, the link to your sermon on the page, which doesn't work, end in:
/podcasts/#?sermon_id=2
But the correct link, which does work, should be:
/podcasts/?sermon_id=2
It looks to me like you installed Wordpress just for this plugin, and the rest of your site is not running Wordpress. And it looks like you installed Wordpress in the /podcasts/ subfolder of your website. Is all that correct? (I don't want to make the wrong assumptions.)
That would make the "front" page of Wordpress your Sermons page. I would think that's doable, but I've never tried that before.
Here are the settings I'd check to make this work. First, under Sermons, Options, check the setting for "Upload folder". It should either be:
/wp-content/uploads/sermons/
or
/podcasts/wp-content/uploads/sermons/
(I'm not sure which one is correct for your site.)
Then, check some of your Wordpress settings.
Under Settings, General, what do you have for "Wordpress address" and "Blog address"? I believe those should both be set to:
http://christthekingcincinnati…..m/podcasts
Finally, it looks to me like you've put the Sermon Browser on a Post and not a Page. If you are new to Wordpress, you might not be familiar with the difference, but I recommend that you put it on a Page, not a Post. Posts are blog entries that are dated. A Page is a more permanent element to your site. So delete your Post called "Sermon Listing", then create a new Page called "Sermon Listing" and put in it. Then under Settings, Reading, "Front page displays", select "A static page" and for "Front Page", select your new "Sermon Listing" Page. I'm guessing that you aren't planning on using the blog features of Wordpress, since you installed it in a subdirectory called "podcasts".
I know that's a lot of stuff to work on. Try it, and post back here so we can take a look and see if anything else needs to be fixed.

OfflineHello,
THanks so much for all your help! I implemented all of your suggestions and figured out something else along the way as well. I was using the WP audio player plugin and that was causing the trouble. I did make the Wordpress page a static page and got that set up per your instructions. Then once I changed the directory of where the uploads were going to match the audio file, everything works great now.
Again, thank you so much for your help.
Grace…
