OfflineI read that there was talk awhile back about changing the default behavior of sermon browser to save sermons as individual posts.
This would be huge for so many reasons. Number one would be having the ability to allow user comments on individual sermons. It would also allow for wp's built in seo and permalinks.
Another huge benefit is the new 'post types' engine built into wp 2.9 from Will Norris. This is going to allow for custom post, category templates, which is going to be huge.
As it is, I could already use much more than the 2 available templates with sermon browser.
On a 'semi related' topic to my above statement. I could not figure out how to display the sermon description on the 'main' sermon listings page, the one with many sermons…. I tried bringing in the shortcode from the individual sermon, to display on the index, but that did not work…. ideas?

Offlineanointed,
I did start coding the "sermons as individual posts" a long time ago, but realised that when shortcodes were added to Wordpress 2.5 that would make the feature about ten times easier to code. So I stopped development on it and haven't gone back since. It should be relatively easy to do now, though, so I will look into it again.
I also like your idea of custom templates for power users. That's got real potential, so we could add or something. Again, shouldn't be too hard.
With the description code, some tags are only available on individual pages. There's no particular reason for this in many cases, and often a bit of copy/paste in dictionary.php can create the tag you need.

OfflineI see that this is targeted for v.44. I'm excited about this update. I also noticed that line #40 of the roadmap said "Allow users to submit sermons to an aggregating site". I'm not exactly sure what this means, but maybe you're talking about adding support to allow users to share a page with social networking sites that they are affiliated with.
Although a little racy with the name, I tried out "SexyBookmarks" http://sexybookmarks.net/ along with the Sermon Browser. This plugin is really pretty good for sharing blogs across social networking sites (and when installed, the end user doesn't see any wording that would be detrimental to a church site, I really wish the author had picked a different name). This doesn't quite work with Sermon Browser however. I'd like it to pickup the sermon itself, but when you try to link from that page you just get the sermons page everytime. I think that this would work if this issue were fixed, and maybe you wouldn't have to worry about line #40 (if that was the intended functionality to be implemented there).

OfflineWe currently enter our sermons as posts with a "Sermons" category. I then add a link to the post in Sermon Browser. I changed the default icon for internet URL to a blank page that says "READ" since I dont anticipate using any real internet URLs… so the visitors see an icon for "READ" which takes them to the post, as well as the audio player with download link.
The category posts have their own RSS feed, which we have picked up by our Facebook fanpage. It works out quite nicely… but I agree, having the post feature be integral to Sermon Browser would be MUCH BETTER, and am also eagerly anticipating it.
