Migrating to Sermon Browser

Mark,

I am the webmaster for my church and am impressed with your sermon plugin. We already post our sermons on our website and podcast them, tracking stats with feedburner. Do you know if anyone has migrated doing their own podcast to your plugin and if there would be any issues migrating the feed (would the feed address change, would we be able to link the previous sermons from their current locations, etc.)? Also, we separately use podpress for the pastor's audio blog, do you know if there would be any conflicts using your plugin beside podpress?

Thanks,
Matt

@Matt – I was using feedburner with my old podcast very happily, but have had to give up on it since I started using Sermon Browser.

iTunes is fine if I subscribe using the direct feed address, i.e. the one made by Sermon Browser, but if I put that feed address into feedburner, and then try to subscribe in iTunes to the feedburner address I get an error that there are no playable episodes. Feedburner must be messing up something on the sermon browser feed, even though I've tried it with and without all sorts of settings. I posted a question on the feedburner support group but never got any replies. I never had a problem with my old podcast feed and feedburner, so I'm not quite sure what the problem is.

It would be interesting to know if you have a similar experience or whether all is OK for you.

Vicky

@Matthew and @Vicky: SermonBrowser is fully compatible with Feedburner. It allows both a public and private feed, so you can enter your Feedburner address in the public feed setting, and give your private feed to Feedburner. I've just realised that Vicky posted earlier about her particular problem with iTunes/Feedburner and I missed it. But I think the fix is a simple one, and I will include it in the next version.

Mark,

I get what you're saying about feedburner. Do you know of any simple way to take our current feed and put it into Sermon Browser without having to do it all manually?

Also, when you create the feed, would it be possible to have fields for the various itunes tags?

Thanks,
Matt
