is there a way to edit the template, so it shows categories, such as: healing sermons, worship, deliverance messages etc…?

right now mine just shows the podcasts in a row… i would like to to be more where they can choose which category they want to listen to and sort from there…. as we have a ton of mp3s…

here is my link right now: http://64.69.44.23/?p=113

i hope i'm making sense…let me know if not.

By "categories," are you referring to Tags, or sermon Series? I'm guessing that you are referring to Tags, so the advice below relates to this. If not, then let me know, as the details will change a little.

If you are referring to Tags, then you'll first need to put in mvejvoda's edit to fix the Tag bug, which you can find here.

There are a few ways you can get a list of Tags with links. The easiest is to use the [tag_cloud] template tag. Just put [tag_cloud] somewhere in your Search results page template. (The tag_cloud template tag will not work in the Sermon page template.)

If you don't like the look of the tag cloud, you can manually create links to different Tags. For example, if you have a tag called "Worship", then this link would list all of the Sermons with the "Worship" tag:
http://64.69.44.23/?p=113&…..ag=Worship
(Trying it now, it looks like you currently have 1 sermon with the Worship tag.)

So you could have a list of links like this:
Healing
Worship
Deliverance

You could put this list in your Search Results template if you want it to appear in your main Sermon Browser page, or you could create a separate page somewhere that would contain these links. If you use this method and you add a new Tag, you would need to manually add a new link to this list.

I hope that helps. Please let us know if you have any more questions.

One other thing I noticed about your site: Your podcast links are incorrect. Go to Sermons, Options, and put the following in for "Public podcast feed":

thanks Ben

i was actually referring to sermon series… is there a way to have those listed as almost buttons that people could click on, and get a list of everything under that series? however the tag thing is very informative as well. :)

thank you for catching the incorrect link i will fix that immediately. in the mean time can you tel me if that is possible with the series?

For series, there are a few different things you can do. You are currently using the "Drop-down" style filter, which lists all of the sermon series in a drop down box. If you'd rather have a list of links to click on, try the "One-click" style filter. (Sermons, Options, Filter type)

If you don't like how that works, you can create your own list of links, just like I described for tags above. Each series has an ID number, which you'll find by going to Sermons, Series & Services. In your case, you currently have 2 series: Fire on the Altar (3) and Amira (5). So your links would be:
Fire on the Altar
Amira

Just add the links any way you see fit on any page, template, or widget. However, whenever you add a new series, you'll need to add a new link manually.

To show the drop-down boxes, click on "Show filter."

If you would rather have the filtering appear all the time, go to Sermons, Options, and uncheck "Minimise filter."
