On our site, http://www.nwpres.org the Podcast URL is the default and it does not work. It just throws a forbidden error. Can someone help me please!

Michael, on your Sermons page, what is the shortcode you are using?  Is it

[sermons]

or is it

[sermons something here]

Do you have a post or a page on your site with ID 718?  I know that

http://www.nwpres.org/718/

returns a 404 error, but maybe it is a private post?

It's not a page. But when I go to edit post 718 I get a page that says "you can't edit this item because it is in the trash. Please restore it and try again." but there are no pages in the trash. What do I do?

Remember that there are two separate "trash cans" in WordPress: one for pages, and one for posts.  Did you check both?

Can I get some help? It is really hard for my church to have a podcast feed that doesn't work. As we want to use it and publicize it.

Unfortunately, there appears to be a bug in Sermon Browser that prevents the correct links from appearing when there is a shortcode of "sermons something here" instead of "sermons".

See these recent topics:

http://www.sermonbrowser.com/f…..error-404/

http://www.sermonbrowser.com/f…..not-found/

My guess is that in the "718" post on your site, it has a sermons shortcode, and SermonBrowser is getting messed up with it.  I don't know why you can't find item in the trash.  If I were you, I would look in the database for post 718.  (Definitely backup the database before you start poking around in there.)  If you find it in the database and it contains a sermons shortcode, you could delete the post from the database.  That would probably solve your problem.

Another thing you could try: in the second topic I linked to above, a user named israelshirk posted a quickfix that solved the problem with his site.  I'm not sure that it would help you, though, because this post 718 would still be there, and still might mess up SermonBrowser.  But it might be worth a try.

Please let us know if you figure something out, or if you have any more questions.

Michael, I just looked at your site now, and it looks like it is working quite a bit differently than when I first looked at it.  I don't see any references to "718" in the links now, so maybe you already got that problem figured out.  As far as I can tell, everything works except for that podcast link.  Does that sound like what you are seeing now?

I'm not sure why the podcast link would give you a 403 error now.  Have you made any edits to podcast.php?

Correct! I removed the 718 page from the DB and that made Sermon Browser make the URL /sermons/?podcast, but I still get a 404. I've never touched the podcast.php page.

Have you tried looking at the server logs for any PHP errors after you try accessing the podcast feed?

I don't have access to them as we are hosted on MediaTemple's Grid Service.

That would be the next thing I would try.  See if these instructions work for you:

http://wiki.mediatemple.net/w/…..error_logs

If not, contact MediaTemple and ask them how you can view these logs.

If you find any PHP errors that look promising and that pop up right after you try to access the podcast feed, post them here.

There isn't even an Error log in there. I'm contacting MediaTemple tomorrow to find out what is going on.
