Hi Support -

First, thanks for your time in looking into this issue for me. I've been mulling over it for weeks trying to fix it myself, and I am finally resolving to some community help.

All of the mp3 sermon files on this site are hosted on another server, at a subdomain, and added as external files through the admin. The site was working fine, but we moved it to a new server (the main site), and now the URLs are invalid.

First, in the Sermon Browser options, change your "Public podcast feed" to match what you have in the "Private podcast feed" field.

After you make this change, post back here so we can take another look.

In the Haiku player settings, in the Default file location box, remove "/audio" and just leave it as a blank box. Then click the Save Changes button.

After you do that, post back here so I can take another look.

Ben – Changes made. Still no luck. Screenshots below.

I actually tried removing Haiku & Audio player altogether and the mp3 URL's the plugin was creating were still incorrect.

Taylor, where are your mp3 files? Are they on media.klm.cc? Your most recent sermon is pointing here:

However, visiting that link gives me a 404 error.

Ben – Not sure why that first sermon isn't correct, but the URL for the second sermon there - http://media.klm.cc/2011-12-11-HaveYouHeard-Pt-2-PastorWooden.mp3 – does not load a 404 error. You can see that it does load in your browser when accessing it directly, but the player will not load it.

I added a sermon on my test site pointed to one of your mp3 files, and it works great:

So that eliminates the possibility of there being a problem on your media.klm.cc site. The problem could be with the Haiku player (which I've never used) or it could be another problem on your WordPress site.

Have you tried the recommended Audio Player plugin yet? That is what I would try next. If it works, then we know that the problem has something to do with the Haiku player.

First, deactivate the Haiku player. Then install and activate the Audio Player plugin:

Next, go into the Sermon Browser options and change the MP3 shortcode to this:

[audio:%SERMONURL%]

and click the "Save" button at the bottom of the screen.

Finally, go into the Audio Player Settings (in the WordPress menu, click on Settings, then Audio Player), go to the Advanced tab, and UNCHECK the "Encode mp3 URLs" box, then click the "Save Changes" button.

After you've done that, post back here so we can take a look again.

Hey Ben – I've reverted back to the Audio Player. I was actually using it first before trying Haiku.

I'd like you to install a plugin called WP-ServerInfo. The page for the plugin is here:

After you install it and activate it, on the menu on the left hand side, click on Dashboard, WP-ServerInfo. On the page that comes up, click on "Display PHP Information."

Next, scroll down to the "PHP Core Configuration" section. Look for the line that begins with "allow_url_fopen."

Is this directive set to "on" or "off" on your server?
