Everything was working for weeks, but now "File not found"

I don't know if this is an issue with Sermon Browser, the audio player, or my server…but I had everything set up and all was working properly until today. My site is http://washingtonplazachurch.c…..page_id=29.

I checked my server and all the files are still there. I checked that audio player is pointed to the right folder. I checked the sermon posts themselves and they are still pointing to the right files.

I am able to download a sermon from my website, it just won't play in the audio player. Says "File not found."

Any thoughts out there on what may be happening? Thanks so much!

Ellison;

What audio player are you using? Was there by chance an update to that player recently that you may have installed. Have you checked all the possible configurations of the player? Have you tried to totally uninstall the player and do a clean install? Have any other plugins been added after the site was working, or have you upgraded anything else in your wordpress?

Also, you said the files and the directories, etc. are all still there, but if you look under the files section of the sermon plugin, do any of these sermons show that they are unlinked. I think I had a few once that were uploaded and then quit working and had to be re-linked. Just a few thoughts. If you decided to try them and find something that fixes your issue(s), please be sure to post the answer back as there are many bugs lately it seems and we can all benefit from it. Hopefully we can get this resolved for you soon.

Blessings :o)

Also, by briefly looking at your code and trying to go directly to where the player portion (.swf) file should be:

http://washingtonplazachurch.c…..player.swf

I also get a file not found. I also found this article that may help you troubleshoot a little more:

http://wpaudioplayer.com/standalone/

Have you also maybe tried a different player for the interim to see if it happens in another player as well. I also do not know if you tested this or not, but I did try the same page in three different web browsers with the same results (chrome, Firefox, and IE) just to rule out the flash player part of it.

Well, that is all I can think of for now. Hopefully one of these suggestions will get you resolved :o)

Grace & peace…

Thanks for your help. I am using the one simply called Audio Player. I deactivated and deleted it and then added it back, but that didn't help. I have not done any updates to Wordpress or any other plugins and I haven't added any new plugins. The files are showing as linked….

I initially had trouble with my theme not wanting to play audio files, but the theme designer corrected some background stuff for me and it started working properly…so I don't know what would have changed???

I am a not a tech expert, so honestly some of that stuff in the link you provided was over my head! Do you have another audio player that you would recommend, and I will try that? I thought the one I was using was the suggested one for Sermon Browser.

I am going out of town for a week starting Feb. 4, but will check back in when I get back. If you or anyone else have any suggestions I would appreciate them! Or, I could pay someone to try to fix it for me!

These kinds of problems remind me that I really don't know what I'm doing! haha

Ellison;

I am using one called Audio player as well, and it came from:

http://wordpress.org/extend/pl…..io-player/

I am sure you or someone else has checked, but be sure the default path to where you files are kept has not changed and someone forgot to update the default path in the plugin. For example, mine is

{site name}/wp-content/uploads/sermons

There is the ability to also set a custom path with this plugin. Maybe by changing the last letter in the default path, it may light the verify button back up. Then you can click on the verify button to see if that resaves that information to the database. Other than that, I am out of ideas for now. Sorry if I talked over your head a bit, but when it comes to issues, sometimes we must go beyond the basics. Nevertheless, I am sorry. I pray your trip was safe, and hopefully we can get this fixed for you when you get back.

Blessings :o)

thanks so much for your ideas. I checked the path and even changed it and moved all my mp3 files to a different folder to see if that would correct things, but to no avail. I am sure I am overlooking something but for now I don't know what else to do. I'd be willing to pay someone for their time for help getting this back up and running…otherwise we'll have to disable it and we really liked it when it was working for those few weeks!

When I downloaded one of your sermons, I couldn't play it.  When I opened the sermon with a text-editor, I got this:

"Warning: filesize()[function.filesize]: stat failed for /home/content/31/8297131/html/washingtonplazachurch.com/wp-content/uploads/sermons/washingtonplazachurch.com/sermons/Sermon20120205.mp3 in /home/content/31/8297131/html/wp-content/plugins/sermon-browser/sermon.php on line 99

Warning: fopen(/home/content/31/8297131/html/washingtonplazachurch.com/wp-content/uploads/sermons/washingtonplazachurch.com/sermons/Sermon20120205.mp3) [function.fopen]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/content/31/8297131/html/wp-content/plugins/sermon-browser/sermon.php on line 875"

I am not a programmer…so I am not exactly sure what this means – but if you look at the error message, the path to the file does not appear to be correct.  Anyone else wanna jump in here?

I have similar or same problem. WP-audio plugin have stopped to work.

Informations are here:

- the way (link) to MP3 file is correct

- I have not done any changes in setup

- "download" link works perfect

- list of sermons is here: http://cb.cz/pardubice/future/…..ani-v-mp3/

I finally did a complete Deletion of everything related to Sermon Browser…reloaded it…and it is working. All my files had to be re-uploaded and the info about each of them entered again…but, it works now. Still unsure what happened to cause it to mess up, but at least it's working now!
