Hello, all.
I need help finding out how to fix a problem I'm having with an audio file I've uploaded. In my Wordpress Dashboard, under Sermon Browser, under Files, there is a single audio file that I've uploaded which continuously duplicates itself each time I click "delete" next to the file. I now have several pages of the same file listed over and over.
The error I receive from Windows Explorer (when viewing the above mentioned Files screen in my Dashboard) is the following:
Message: Unterminated string constant
Line: 2107
Char: 2
Code: 0
URI: http://coolspringspbc.org/wp-a…../files.php
The above error actually occurs 13 times with a different Line number listed for each one. I am relatively new to Wordpress.
First and foremost, has anyone ever heard of an error such as this, and if so, do you know how to fix it?
Secondly, does anyone know how I can edit the files.php file to which the error message refers?
Thanks in advance!

Offlinechowell8,
I don't know off the top of my head what is going on, but maybe I can steer you in the right direction.
The error message you are getting is a Javascript error. "files.php" is not an actual file, it is generated on the fly by Sermon Browser. So to see the code for this, in the WordPress control panel go to Sermons, Files. Then, in Internet Explorer, right click on the page and select "View Source". Line 2107 in the source code that appears will hopefully shed some light on the problem.
My guess is that there is a PHP error that is showing up here, interfering with the Javascript code.
Some other questions for you:
Is the file you are having trouble with in the Unlinked files area, or the Linked files?
Have you gone to the upload folder via FTP and seen whether or not there are actually multiple copies of this file in there?
Have you tried deleting the file via FTP?
Thanks for the reply.
I'm having trouble with the unlinked files area.
I haven't accessed the upload folder via FTP and have never used FTP. Do you recommend a client for me to use? (Please overlook any incorrect terminology I may have used; managing a webpage in any form is all new to me.)
In case this tells you anything, each one of the 13 errors reported in the source code of the Sermons, File screen references a line with the "td" command.

OfflineFilezilla is great. Free, too. http://filezilla-project.org/
Update:
Thanks for the FTP client suggestion. I downloaded it and viewed my uploaded audio files on the website. As you alluded to, the FTP client showed that the file actually was not duplicated and only appears to be duplicated when viewing from a web browser. What I found out was that the file could not be deleted using the FTP client, because the origianl file had an apostrophe which somehow created a backslash adjacent to the apostrophe. This problem couldn't be seen from the web browser view, only by the FTP client.
My brother-in-law is a web designer and lives in another state but had a chance to look at my problem during his recent visit here. He was able to fix the problem. In case anyone else has this problem in the future, he fixed my problem by using something called MySQL.
Thanks to everyone who responded to my questions.

OfflineI'm glad you found someone to help. I'm sure your brother-in-law already told you this, but for anyone else reading, remember that it is best to avoid apostrophes, quotes, spaces, and other special characters in filenames on the web. It's best just to stick with letters, numbers, dashes- and underscores_.
