Is there an easy way for me to add a download link under my audio files? I like the player, but would like to have a link to download the audio for people that do not want to listen on the website and do not want to subscribe to the podcast.

I was thinking that there was a template code or something for that, but cannot find it.

Why yes, there is…

In the template, make your files loop look like this:

[files_loop]
[file_with_download]
[/files_loop]

As long as you are using the standard audio player, the download link should show up like magic.

Ahh. That must be my problem. I'm not using the standard audio player. I'm using the audio player from mediaelement.js for html5 capability. I thought the download link was a part of Sermon Browser not the audio plugin.

Any other ideas?

Pretty sure that download link is an extension of the standard audio player. When I played with other audio players it always disappeared.

It's a limitation of 0.45, but in 0.46 the download link will work with all audio players, though the syntax will be slightly different. Instead of [file_with_download], you'll use [file mp3download="true"]

0.46 is currently in beta testing.

Ahhh…thanks for the clarification on the download link Mark. I was wondering why it wasn't showing up on my test site. Awesome work BTW. About to launch a Spanish site for our Spanish radio program. Can't wait for the new updates!

Forgive me brothers, but where exactly would the code [file mp3download="true"] go in the template?

I'm a total ignoramus concerning code and have been inserting it here there and everywhere with mostly the following results:

Sermons (344)

[file mp3download="true"] [file mp3download="true"] [file mp3download="true"] [file mp3download="true"] [file mp3download="true"] [file mp3download="true"] [file mp3download="true"] [file mp3download="true"] [file mp3download="true"] [file mp3download="true"] [file mp3download="true"] [file mp3download="true"] [file mp3download="true"] [file mp3download="true"] [file mp3download="true"] [file mp3download="true"] [file mp3download="true"] [file mp3download="true"] [file mp3download="true"] [file mp3download="true"]

so yeah….

any help would be greatly appreciated!

Charl, the[file mp3download="true"] won't work until you are running Sermon Browser version 0.46, which has not been released yet.  You are running version 0.45.4, so feel free to take that code out everywhere you inserted it.

This has been very helpful!

Just wondering, when do you guys plan on releasing 0.46?

Thanks Ben. If that's the case, then how do I get the "Download" button annexed to sermons on my sermon page like some of the other websites mentioned here?

Should I use[File with Download]? and if so, where in the template should I insert it?

Thanks a lot
