Deleting sermons from database

Hello. We have experienced an issue at our church where we have had to let one of our teaching pastors go. Because of the unfortunate circumstances, we are also deleting his sermon audio from our website. He has over 150 sermons in our database, so to make things efficient, I went into the PHPMyAdmin database > sb_sermons table and deleted all of the records with his preacher_id. Everything on the back end of WordPress appears as it should, but the sermons page on our website doesn't list any sermons. The search filter box shows up, but no sermons from other preachers are appearing. Any thoughts? Thanks for your assistance!

First, I'm sorry to hear about the situation. Stuff like that is always sad.

About your website: Without seeing your site, it is hard to say for sure, but it sounds like a symptom that we've seen before here on the forum:

I don't really know the cause or the solution in general. However, in this case, we at least know the cause: Sermon Browser didn't like whatever database edits you made. Did you by any chance back up your database before making edits? If so, I would try restoring your database, then deleting the sermons using Sermon Browser's admin panel.

Another thing to note: once in a while, this problem corrects itself after a day (don't ask me why). So if you've only had this problem for a couple of hours, you might want to wait until tomorrow before doing anything further.

If you need more help, could you post a link to your site?

Thanks Ben. We are praying through it.

I do have weekly backups of the database that I can try. I will try the wait-and-see method first. For now, I have a message up saying it is offline and we hope to have it back up soon.

I'll keep you posted. Thanks!
