customizing filter layout

In the previous version of SB, we customized the layout to have the filters in a single column on the left with the sermons listed in a right hand column. See here:

We have been hesitating to upgrade the browser because we don't want to lose our customization. In a new site I am working on, I tried pasting my customizations into the editable Templates section, but it appears the coding has changed significantly from the previous and my customizations don't do anything.

Any helpful ideas on how to do this?

Also, wouldn't it be great to create an underlying code that the user could customize by adding code to 'hooks' in the underlying php? The user created hooks wouldn't get altered by upgrades. That's the way my basic site works, I am using the Genesis Framework by StudioPress.

Just a little nudge to see if anyone has any response to my post above.

Brother… I have no advice but I am very much intrigued at how you achieved this customization. Would you care to share some tips?

Thanks.

Nice setup Don! What version of the browser are you using currently?

Hi, sorry I didn't reply to rodriguez.josue.d earlier… I got foggy and forgot this was my topic!

We are using 0.43.5. We customized the code in the templates page… when I say 'we', I mean I watched and my son did the work!

When I tried to paste the code into the newer version (0.45.4) it didn't have the same effect. I am not sure if I can paste the code into a post here, but I'll give it a try…  nope, the forum software won't let me post it… Do you know how?

I am still trying to figure out the newer sermon-browser setup, but it has been put on the back-burner. My son will have some time to help in the summer, but right now he is occupied with two jobs and my granddaughter!
