OfflineMy custom podcast/filtered messages link was working fine but is no longer functioning. Once I filter the messages, the link goes to a feed that includes all sermons instead of the filtered ones. The filter works fine, but the filtered rss doesn't seem to recognize the filtered criteria.

I don't know if I did something or if it happened when I upgraded this week.
Here is the code from the css
| ][podcasticon_for_search] | Filtered Messages ]iTunes • ]Other |
I just checked, and mine is doing the exact same thing.

Offlineit looks to me like everyone is having this issue. I have visited several sb websites and every one, including Mr. Burnes site and they all have the same issue. I am sure something must have gone wrong in the coding of the newest version and its probably a simple fix…
anyone able to help on this one… for the good of all?

OfflineI noticed while I was helping out someone else that if you are looking to build your own custom filtered podcast links, it's pretty easy. After you filter your sermons, just take the end of the url and add that after the regular podcast link to get your filtered podcast link. If you are looking to build a custom podcast link for something, this might help you until Mark fixes the automatically-generated "Filtered Sermons Podcast" links.
Example from our website: I filter my sermons to show all sermons about the book Joshua. The resulting page ends with:
?book=Joshua
The link for the Filtered Sermons podcast is wrong on this page, but if I want the correct link, it ends with:
?podcast&book=Joshua
(note the & symbol in there)
I hope this helps someone.
Thanks again, Mark, for this wonderful plugin! I have been using it at our church for several months, and I love it.

OfflineSure. It works the same way. Using our church's website as an example again, we have a series titled "Elijah." If I filter the sermons to show the series "Elijah," the resulting URL ends with:
(The Elijah series is series 9 in the control panel.)
The feed link for this series ends with:
?podcast&series=9
(Note the & symbol.)
You can combine different filters as well. Just apply the filters, then take the end of the URL and add it to the end of the podcast URL.
For your Sanctification series, if you apply the filter, you'll see what the Series ID number is. Use that instead of the name.

OfflineIs there a way I can fix this bug permanently? It is very disappointing for my visitors to not have the ability to podcast by filtered messages. Podcasting is one of the primary features that drew me to this plug in and it is virtually useless at this point.
I appreciate the help offered by Ben Miller and it has worked to some extent but it means that a key feature of Sermon Browser isn't working.
I have been waiting hoping the bug fix would come but nothing yet. If it is a matter of editing the plugin files somewhere can someone please tell me where and how.
If not, can someone help me find a way to revert back to the last version. The filtered podcast worked fine that the last version but of course, I don't have the files anymore.
I have spent countless hours trying to figure out another work around short of recoding 400+ messages.
Please help… very frustrated.
You can find all of the previous versions here on the WordPress plugin page.
What I did on our site is simply remove the filtered podcast section from the template. (The podcast link for all new sermons is still there and works great.) I personally don't find the filtered podcast all that useful anyway for our church, since we only currently post one sermon a week, and anyone wanting to subscribe to our sermons would want the new one every week.
When we start posting our weekly youth service, I'll just include a custom-made podcast link for the Sunday service and another for the youth service using the method I posted earlier.
Sorry I can't be more help at this time.

OfflineThis is a pretty old issue so I don't know if it has been answered elsewhere. The call to URL generator function has been hardcoded to exclude filter tags. I don't know if there is a specific reason for this – perhaps it caused problems with iTunes, etc. If you want to turn it back on, change:
return str_replace(' ', '%20', sb_build_url(array('podcast' => 1, 'dir'=>'desc', 'sortby'=>'m.datetime'), true));
}
in the plugin file frontend.php so that the last argument is false.
Do so at your own risk – pastor Barnes may have a good reason to have done this.
Hope this helps.
