Hi All,

We've been having some problems recently with SB and podcating (see http://www.4-14.org.uk/forum/s…..lay#p2123) and today I found the time to reinstalled SB and start from scratch. this meant re-entering all of the sermons, preachers, services and so on. as you imagine it took quite some time. this was going all so very well. at some point along the line of our 40 sermons the plugin ceased to work and as such emptied the iTunes feed, stopped displaying the total number of sermons and all sorts of other things.

has anyone found this yet? using WP3.01 and SB0.43.5

If so whats the fix. Getting bugged a lot by the powers that be and as such i need a solution. I love the software and would hate to have to stop using it because of this.

Dave

Dave, can you give a link to your site?

The link is http://www.onechurchgloucester.com

At the moment we've removed everything and uploaded the eight most recent podcasts as it works fine with that. It's just when we reupload the older sermons and reach around the 40 mark that everything stops working, and it seems the only way to fix is a complete uninstall and manual reupload.

Dave, did you install any plugins (even if unrelated to your sermons page) to your site just prior to this issue?

Hi.

Sorry to but in, but I am having the same issues. I have only got to 24 sermons and every time I try to add more, the SB crashes out.

I have posted my dilemma on another post, but no one seems to be able to fix this. I too run latest WP and SB.

Mike.

The only thing that was done recently was the update to WP3.01 and update all the plugins. the plugins that were updated were already running on the site previously when SB was running fine.

When this breaks the sermon counter on the site resets to 1 sermon and you cannot browse through the sermons unless you apply a filter.

Dave, get into phpMyAdmin, click on your database (left column, in blue), and look at the table names. They should all have the same prefix – wp_commentmeta, wp_comments – the "wp" is the prefix. Is the prefix the same for all the tables?

Hi Rich & Dave.

As I am having exactly the same issue, may I confer with you guys, even to just give other data from another server etc.

I too have checked my DB and all start with wp and like Dave, I have only updated things and not added any new plugins etc.

Bless you both.
Mike.

Of course, Mike – but I am afraid that, as of Dave's latest reply… I am stumped. I had the same problems the two of you are describing, and my issues were due to plugins and to database issues.

Thanks Rich.

When I first encountered this issue, one of the first things I tried was to disable ALL plugins and then re-instate them one-by-one, but it didn't produce any faults.

Perhaps it might be something to do with my database? Do you happn to know what I might look for apart from the wp thing which is OK?

Bless you.
Mike.

Mike, unfortunately not. I am a banker, and church webmaster is my hobby. I am more dangerous than useful sometimes, and I am almost completely unfamiliar with the database, other than I know how to back it up in case I mess up too badly!

HI Rich,

I'll have a look at the plugins, but I have a feeling that the database thing will be more likely. Databases are really unknown ground for me. When you said that yours was a database issue what bit exactly was wrong.

Thanks for your help on this so far :)

My prefixes were something other than "wp", and that caused the same problem that you are having, despite my restoring the database from a known working install.

Hi Rich.

I was just checking my DB tables again and they all have a prefix of wp, but I don't see any tables with a specific tag to Sermon Browser.

Can you tell me which of the DB tables are meant to be for SB?

Mike.

Mike, these are the tables that I know belong to SB:

wp_sb_books
wp_sb_books_sermons
wp_sb_preachers
wp_sb_series
wp_sb_sermons
wp_sb_sermons_tags
wp_sb_services
wp_sb_stuff
wp_sb_tags

Yep, that's the same as I have, I just double checked and found them all. Everything appears OK and all the data is in the tables.

Perhaps this problem needs highlighting to the plugin creator in case it is a new type of bug that needs fixing.

Regards.
Mike.

Hi All,

Well once again this problem has appeared! On our site we can add up to 22 sermons, and then after that the plugin breaks and stops outputting to iTunes.

If I then delete a podcast it all returns to normal and works again.

Please help! I have no idea why this is happening, all the databases seem correct and I can't find anything out. I love the plugin and it's awesome for what we do, but if we can't use it for more than 22 podcasts (6 months ish) then I'll have to get rid of it!

This will be fixed in 0.44 – it's caused by some hosts being restrictive about the potential size of MySQL queries.
