OfflineSo, since after hours of troubleshooting, I still can't seem to get Audio Player to work with sermon browser (when it was working fine before, and am unsure when it stopped– likely when something was upgraded recently?)… If you didnt read what I wrote in other threads, I get a "File Not Found" in the player, yet the download link works.
Does anyone have any tutorials (or willing to write one out) about integrating other audio players with Sermon Browser? I tried, unsuccessfully, with a couple others, but admittedly, I'm a bit over my head with some of this code.
As far as audio player, as far as I can tell, it's either permissions, or malformed URL… but since the download link works, that baffles me.
I deactivated a number of plugins that I thought could interfere (including Role Scoper and the like) which had no effect. The standard mod_rewrite stuff is in .htaccess, but that was there before when audio player was working, so doesn't seem like that could be it. It hasnt been changed.
Any help would be appreciated. Now that people have gotten used to the streaming sermons, I don't want them losing faith in the service, and am at a loss.
Thanks!
Matt

OfflineOne thing you could try is the older 1.2.3 version of the 1pixelout Audio Player plugin. That is the version I'm running on our site now. It is missing some features of the 2.0 version (most notibly the volume control), but it is called differently from the 2.0 version and therefore might not be susceptible to whatever is causing your issues.
You can download the 1.2.3 version of the plugin here from Wordpress.
The automatic install from Wordpress never worked correctly for that version, but you'll be installing it manually. You'll want to deactivate the plugin you've got now, delete the plugin files you've got now, upload the 1.2.3 files, then activate the plugin again. And maybe it will work for you.
Check out these two posts for hints on how to correctly install the 1.2.3 plugin, if you get stuck:

The plugin page also has manual installation instructions you can take a look at here. Follow the instructions for "Upgrading", except in your case you are going from 2.0 to 1.2.3 instead of the other way around.
Please let us know if that fixes your problem, as that might be a clue for someone to figure out what is causing the player issues for some sites.

OfflineNo luck… I had tried this before, but tried again now (and you can see on our site (http://www.dodgevilleumc.org/p…..monbrowser) that it does the same thing — Different error message, but same meaning. It says "Error opening file" in the player, yet the download link works fine. *shrug* …
Could it possibly be an .htaccess or permissions issue of some kind?

OfflineOkay, I found something new. It looks like you upload your sermons to:
/main/wp-content/uploads/sermons/
However, when you try to access a particular sermon file directly at that location, you get a Page not found. Take for example, your sermon called "He Finally Got It":
http://www.dodgevilleumc.org/m…..yGotIt.mp3
gives you a 404 Page not Found error. The download link goes through a Sermon Browser PHP script and retrieves the audio file that way, but the Audio Player needs to access the file from the web server just like we do if we follow the link above, and it gets a 404 error.
If you try a recent sermon from my site, you'll see that it has no problem getting the audio file:
http://www.pathwayschurch.us/w…..2-27-2.mp3
So, the question is: if the audio file is really at the above location, why is your web server giving us a 404 error?
I don't know if this is because of a Wordpress setting that isn't right, or if it is due to a .htaccess issue.
I'm curious: could you post the settings you've got for the following Wordpress options?
Settings, General, WordPress address
Settings, General, Blog address
Settings, Miscellaneous, Store uploads in this folder
Settings, Miscellaneous, Full URL path to files
Sermons, Options, Upload folder
Maybe we'll see something in one of those.

OfflineWe are thinking along the same lines. I also found that to be true about going directly to the file.
Since I dont want to publish the intimate details of our file structure publicly, I'll PM you the requested settings.
Thanks,
Matt

OfflineOk, got it fixed. For anyone with similar problem, here's what the problem was:
Role Scoper (or Revisionary– not sure which, but I'm pretty sure it was one of those) added some lines to the .htaccess that weren't necessary, and visibly blocked access to the uploads directory.
I commented out all but the default lines that Wordpress put in iniitally, and voila, instant success!
I am now completely functional with Wordpress 2.9.1, Audio Player 2.0.1, Role Scoper 1.1.2 and SermonBrowser 0.43.5.
Thanks for brainstorming with me! :)
