Sorry, it's taking longer than I thought to sort out. I will have a fix today though.

I'm having a problem about the sermon browser. It just started since we update the Wordpressâ„¢ version to 2.8.4. The sermon browser won't play…it keeps saying.."buffering".

Does somebody had the same problem? I need somebody to help me on this issue.

Thanks.

Hi there – I am not sure to post here or create a new topic.
I made a mistake last night to upgrade WP to 2.8.4 and now I am having the buffering issue.
I have updated SB to version 0.43.5 and I am still experiencing the same problem.
Any suggestion please?

Thanks, JD

I saw an earlier post that eluded to the need to update Adobe flash player but for some reason I am unable to even do that. At this point I don't know if this is a browser issue, SB issue, or flash player issue.confused

Good evening. If this topic has been covered, I apologize; I wasn't able to find it and I'd be grateful if you'd point me to the resolution.

I have installed two plugins on my church website: Sermon Browser and Audio Player. I have a sample audio file correctly uploaded to work with Sermon Browser; I've configured Audio Player, but when I click to play the audio, it shows as "buffering" and won't play. I'm not sure if the problem is with Sermon Browser or Audio Player.

But I know the same audio file plays on another site with Sermon Browser and Audio Player; it won't play on mine.

The problem page is the "test sermon" here.

The same audio file plays fine in Audio Player here.

(I promise: I'm using the same audio file and I'll delete it once I get all this blasted testing done!)

I have tried this in Chrome and in IE8 (32-bit).

Help!
This is the environment:

change in SB.
SB 0.43.5
WP 2.9.2
IE8, Google Chrome, Firefox
Hosting is by Yahoo!

I have prayed and now hope someone can help. With no settings changes to SB, I played some sermons. I ate dinner, I came back and the persistent 'buffering' is displayed in the player.
Also, when the podcast link is clicked, the files show up in iTunes but they are not able to be downloaded. If I go directly to the mp3's in my browser, they play. Only through SB do they not play. Can anyone help? This is across all browsers:
IE8
Firefox
Chrome
Safari.
Tried all the fixes on the site. I falsely reported a resolve the other night but that was temporary.

Thank you and God Bless.

Burt, I believe the problem you are seeing on your site is related to another problem I noticed. If you click on one of the sermon titles, (For example, "Forgiveness"), you'll see that it tries to go to a URL ending in:
/#?sermon_id=21
This URL does not work. The correct link should end in:
/?sermon_id=21
which does work and takes you to the sermon page. You'll also see this problem in your podcast links, which are not working currently. If you fix this problem, I believe it will fix your player problem.

In the WordPress control panel, under Sermons, Options, what do you have for "Upload folder" and "Public podcast feed"?

For your site, I think "Upload folder" should be set to either:
/wp-content/uploads/sermons/
or
/blog/wp-content/uploads/sermons/
(I'm not sure which one is correct.)

Your "Public podcast feed" should be:
http://ccvenice.org/blog/sermo…..s/?podcast

Hopefully, that will help. Please post back here and let us know when you try that, and we can look at your site again and see if that worked or not.

rakess, everything on your site looks like it is working to me. Could you share what you did to fix it, to help others that might have a similar problem?

Don't you love it when things fix themselves? :)

Well, if it happens again, post back and we'll try to take a look at it.

Hey All,

I was so excited to hear that there was a WP plugin link this… I ran into my office to download it and try it out.

I have installed the plugin and the player… and am having the same problem a lot of people here are having… I am getting the const. buffering. I have tried every test I can think of… from making sure the mp3 plays by going directly to the url (in my internet browser), to posting an mp3 directly onto a post (not through SB)… and those all work fine. But for some reason I am getting the same buffering and the same "#" in my url link when you click on the message.

I have tried all the fixes suggested (install the latest flash, reboot, disable & enable SB & the audio player, change the url in the options menu… etc) and nothing seems to work. I also waited a couple of hours to see if my problem would magically fix itself.

I am a pastor from Calvary Chapel Saving Grace in So. Cal and want to use this plugin ASAP to host ALL our church's teachings… So I am looking forward to getting this fixed and up and running ASAP.

The link the the site I am testing it on is – http://sgwm.com/thiemann/teachings (this is my personal blog that I am just testing it on).

Thanks & God Bless,
Mike

Mike, I'm not seeing the "#" in the links. So if you didn't do anything, then that fixed itself. If you did do something to fix it, please let us know what it was!

However, the Audio Player plugin is still not playing. It looks like your theme template (not the sermon browser template) is missing the wp_footer() call in the footer. You need to edit your theme's footer.php file.

See this troubleshooting page on the WordPress Audio Player site.

Please post back here and let us know if you got it working or not. If you need more help, or have more questions, just let us know.

Ben,

Thanks for your reply!

Ya… the "#" thing in the url fixed itself. I didn't do anything to change that. So praise God that is a step in the right direction. it allows the message to be downloaded… but I still can't get it to play.

I looked into the header/footer thing and the .php files had the code in them already… I tried switching to a couple of different themes and starting at step one again… but the same thing… doesn't play.

I have the latest flash player installed… and have tried it on a couple of computers… and that's not fixing it either. So I am stuck again…

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

God Bless,
Mike

Ok… So What I did was search for another mp3 player… and I found WP Audio Player. So I installed that one and turned off the "1PixelOut Audio Player" (The audio player that was recommended with SB). Then when I went to the page I notices the design between these two were exactly the same. So I thought maybe it cashed or something and I was still viewing the other audio player plug in… but just for fun I hit the play button and guess what… IT WORKED!!! So I confirmed that The "1pix out audio player" was off and that the WP audio player was on… and sure enough it was.

So that's how it got fixed. I don't know why… but with the WP Audio Player plugin everything works fine… and the design looks exactly the same.

God Bless,
Mike
