Are there any planned updates for sermon browser?

After all of the talk about .44 using posts for sermons, it got very quite around here, and I have not seen any updated information.

Are there still plans to release .44 using sermons as posts?

I am interested in the answer to this, too.

Also been wondering this… If upgrade plans are stalled, perhaps at least a status could be posted?

Thanks!

That would be nice, but Pastor Barnes is not even replying to emails — even from those who, like me, sent money. Very frustrating, and frankly, I am feeling like I will no longer recommend this plugin to others.

I dont know that I 'd go that far… especially if it keeps working with newer versions of Wordpress. But, some indication of plans and direction would be nice.

Is Pastor Barnes ok? Perhaps something is wrong…

I was there too, but he is posting on this site – just not here. Believe me – I understand busy, and I have tried to be patient – but when I can see that he visits here daily and that he is answering questions about his other ventures on this site, I have to wonder. I could even accept that there is no further development – if only he would simply let us all know!

Obviously, it is quite busy being a pastor & developing all this stuff! But thousands of sermons are hosted using this plugin and lots of people are excited about the 0.44 release! Any idea how long? How easy will it be to transfer sermons already created to posts? Thanks!!!!

That's an excellent question. At this point I'm not holding my breath for 0.44, since we haven't heard a peep from the author in quite some time. But all of our sermon texts are entered as posts, and linked directly as an external URL in Sermon Browser. Might have to do a category export/import or something. Depends on how its coded.

Hello, I'm pretty new to the sermon browser plug-in and was wondering if it was compatible with the latest version of word press 2.9.1 Any info would be helpful, thanks.

Yes, Lonny- I am running Sermon Browser 0.43.5 on Wordpress 2.9.1, with AudioPlayer 2.0.4.1 currently, and it's working fine.

Same here – WP 2.9.1 and Audio Player 2.0.41 (yes I got that working). All is well.

Hello again,
Thanks for the heads up on the wordpress 2.9.1. I noticed that both of you that replied also used the audio player plug in. I have installed the plug in but I'm not sure that its working properly. Actually I guess I would have to back up and ask another question about uploading sermons to sermon browser. I am using Garageband 09 to record which by default puts them into AAC format and then I transfer them to itunes which is an M4a format, where I have been making cds. My problem is that it seems that I cant upload for some reason. Maybe id3 tags? I dont know. I'm getting pretty worn out. I could use any pointers or a general direction if any of this makes sense.
Thank you for your time.

P.S. I have watched all of the tutorials on the sermon browser plug in, :>)

Lonny,

There is a limitation in Flash (which is what Audio Player is/uses) that limits the fie type that can be played to MP3s. Audio Player won't play MP4s, or ACC files.

Marc was working on (I think) support for different audio players.

Has anyone heard from him? I see he's still posting to his blog.

I wonder if he'd give someone else control to continue developing Sermon Browser if he's not interested in it anymore.

Hello PBurch, I appreciate the reply, I have actually tried to convert the teachings into mp3 using MusicMan 2 and somebody mentioned that the id3 tags may have been lost, but when I tagged it, it would still not upload. I dont even know if audio player is working on the site. I dont know. Anyways thanks for the reply.
